8-5-22   THOUGHTS

I frequently ask the Lord in prayer to help me be a good sheep.  There are many implications for me in that idea.  

Heb 13:20-21      Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord,  21  equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
1Pet 2:23-25   and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously;  24  and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 25  For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
Ps 23:1-6   The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.  2  He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. 3  He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4  Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. 6  Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Ps 24:1-6    The earth is the LORD’S, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it.  2  For He has founded it upon the seas And established it upon the rivers. 3  Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? And who may stand in His holy place? 4  He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood And has not sworn deceitfully. 5  He shall receive a blessing from the LORD And righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6  This is the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face — even Jacob.
John 10:14     "I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me,
John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;

Life really is pretty simple isn’t it?

My Prayer:
O Father God, help us to be good sheep.  Teach us to know that none of us can direct his own steps.  So help us learn to follow, through your wisdom and word.  Give us a joyful submission to the right and true.  May the blood of the eternal covenant give us a sober, sweet diligence in serving You. O God.  We shall not want, if the Great Shepherd knows us.  Help us to hear His voice at all times and in all ways.   In the name of our Savior,        Amen.
